Dr. Janet Currie has a background in health and physical education, academia, community health promotion, marketing, PR and health policy. Her research interests explore perceptions of health and participation in leisure and physical activity. Janet has designed and published numerous educational materials in the area of health promotion and exercise including books, videos, teacher and community resources. A past national level netballer, rower and athlete, Janet has also been an exercise leader for over 33 years. Dr. Currie is past National President, Vice-President and State representative of the Australian Health Promotion Association, Director of Health Education and Promotion International and Board of ActivateUTS. She was awarded the Outstanding Community Engagement Award by Australian Catholic University for the highly successful Strollers Pramwalking program.
