Founded in 2011, the Health, Wellness, & Society Research Network is brought together by a common concern in the fields of human health and wellness, and in particular their social interconnections and implications. We seek to build an epistemic community where we can make linkages across disciplinary, geographic, and cultural boundaries. As a Research Network, we are defined by our scope and concerns and motivated to build strategies for action framed by our shared themes and tension
The Twelfth International Conference on Health, Wellness, & Society calls for research addressing the following annual themes and special focus:
We are offering a blended conference format with session types explicitly designed to make the most of both online and in-person social knowledge processes.
We pride ourselves on the global diversity of our network members. Add your voice, in-person or online, by submitting a proposal today. You will need the following: presentation type, short/long descriptions, keywords, focus, themes, and biographical information.
Also remember, you do not need to commit either to a place-based or virtual presentation at the time of submission. You can present both ways, or change your mode of the presentation if your preferences change.

For over 30 years, Common Ground has been invested in developing technologies that seek to break down barriers of access in scholarly communication. In each phase, we’ve built media platforms to support spaces for interdisciplinary dialogue, before such approaches were in vogue; connected international voices, when disciplines were too often isolated in national silos; and supported an agenda of access and equality, by offering pathways and opportunities for diverse voices.
And now we propose another kind of intervention -- a scholarly communication infrastructure for a blended future.
With this step-by-step guide, we walk you through the new phases pre/during/post-conference to ensure you have a productive blended conference.
We are working to change the way in which knowledge is produced, validated, and shared within member-based Research Networks.
The International Journal of Health, Wellness, and Society and Book Imprint offer pathways to transform your presentation into formal research objects. We also support a number of affordable Open Access pathways to allow maximum flexibility to support principles of open research, in a sustainable manner.
