Karen Mueller is a Clinical Professor and Professor Emerita, Department of Physical Therapy, Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff AZ, USA. As a physical therapist for 43 years and a faculty member for 36, Dr. Mueller teaches in the areas of health and wellness, professionalism, communication and ethics. Her research areas lie in the exploration of interventions to improve the health and well-being of physical therapy students as well as their trajectory of professional identity formation and ethical reasoning. She has also published and presented extensively on the value of physical therapist intervention for patients in hospice and palliative care settings. As an editorial board member and National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, Dr. Mueller is committed to the clinical application of evidence based interventions that improve the quality of life for individuals with all levels of health across the lifespan.
