International Institute for the Inclusive Museum (iiiM)

Community Partner

The International Institute for the Inclusive Museum (iiiM) is a not-for-profit that subsumes the Pacific Asia Observatory for Cultural Diversity in Human Development established in 2004 as part of the Action Plan of the UNESCO Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity (2001). It brings together clusters of research and capacity building institutions along with arts, museums, heritage and environmental agencies across the world. The criteria for participation includes demonstrated commitment to the ICOM Code of Ethics (2004); ICOM Cultural Diversity Charter (2010); and the Soft and Hard Law Instruments of UNESCO.

Networking all over the world and with active engagement through social media, the iiiM platform enhances constructive exchanges across knowledge communities and promotes state of the art online research, learning, and teaching systems. A strategic partner with the prestigious Common Ground Publishing, iiiM is driven by UN Sustainable Development Goals as defined in Transforming Our World - the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

University of Guadalajara

At the beginning of a new millennium, the University of Guadalajara is a vigorous community, heir to an educational tradition forged along more than two centuries. To its University Centers located in the Metropolitan Area of Guadalajara and eight regions of Jalisco 280,297 students come every day to study in the 422 vocational, high school, undergraduate an graduate academic programs the University offers.

University of Granada

The University of Granada, founded in 1531, continues a long teaching tradition, the roots of which can be traced back to the madrasahs of the last Nasrid Kingdom. The university is a vibrant presence in the city of Granada, benefiting from the distinctive beauty of its environment and a privileged geographical location due to its proximity to the Sierra Nevada, and the Mediterranean coast, with several major tourist sites, including Motril, Almuñécar and Salobreña nearby.

Over 60,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students study at the university, with another 20,000 students taking additional courses, language courses, summer courses, etc. The university employs 3,650 lecturers and over 2,000 administration, technical and maintenance staff. At present, courses for 75 different qualifications are taught in 28 teaching centers. The courses are taught across 116 departments, and the Postgraduate School offers 68 master's courses, 116 doctorate programs, and 113 additional courses.

The commitment to high-quality research has placed the University of Granada in a prominent position in terms of national rankings. The financing of 346 research groups illustrates this commitment. Through the Spanish Research Program, as well as other national programs and organizations, the university supports 165 research projects, and the Ministry of Innovation, Science and Business has provided financial support to 78 Projects of Excellence.
