Overview

Established in 2011, the Health, Wellness & Society Research Network launched with early conferences hosted by leading institutions and has since traveled across the globe—to University of California, Berkeley (USA), Sorbonne Université (France), University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), Malmö University (Sweden), and University of Granada (Spain), among others.

Throughout its history, the Conference has welcomed leading voices shaping health research and practice. Plenary speakers have included George Lambie, Linda Neuhauser, Bechara Choucair, Carol Braunschweig, Renato D. Alarcón, Dante Gallian, Miguel A. Luengo-Oroz, Linda Kurti, and Ben Chrisinger, among others—each contributing perspectives that situate health as a shared scientific, policy, and community endeavor.

Under the guidance of its current chair, Professor Louise Dalingwater, and a diverse Advisory Board, the Network continues to expand geographically and intellectually—linking rigorous evidence with equity and lived experience.

Today, it connects annual convenings with peer-reviewed publishing and year-round collaboration on CGScholar, sustaining a shared commitment to evidence, inclusion, and actionable knowledge.
